Why I’m Running to Lead Monroe Again
I’ve called Monroe home for nearly 30 years, raising six children with my wife of almost 19 years. This city is more than just a place to live—it’s a community with boundless potential, deserving of leadership that delivers results. That’s why I ran for mayor, and it’s why I’m running again: to keep Monroe moving forward with conservative values, strong leadership, and a commitment to our people.
I’ve long believed Monroe could be a beacon of opportunity, but for years, inconsistent priorities held us back. In 2023, I became mayor after a nationally recognized coin toss—a moment that felt like a clear mandate to serve with integrity and action. Since then, my administration has worked tirelessly to make Monroe a better place to live, work, and raise a family.
We’ve transformed Monroe into one of North Carolina’s most business-friendly cities, now ranked 10th in the state for small businesses. Through the Greater Monroe Economic Development Department, which I helped establish Monroe has welcomed millions in investments, creating jobs and driving economic growth. The Winchester Revitalization Committee, another initiative I championed, is delivering real resources to a community long overlooked by past leaders—fulfilling promises with action, not just words.
Public safety remains a top priority. My administration launched community outreach teams to combat gun violence, partnered with local organizations for lasting impact, and streamlined hiring to fill critical roles like police officers and code enforcement in record time. We also secured a historic pay raise for our police department, showing our officers they’re valued and supported.
On infrastructure, we’ve made Monroe natural resource independent, giving us control over our utilities and future growth. The City Council is laser-focused on fixing aging roads and ensuring sustainable development. Unlike others, we’ve said no to high-density housing projects that strain our infrastructure, prioritizing quality over quantity.
I also launched MonroeWorks, a program connecting local businesses with residents seeking jobs. It’s bridging the gap between our workforce and industries, cementing Monroe’s place as a regional economic leader.
Leading Monroe hasn’t been without challenges. My faith and conservative principles have drawn opposition, but I’ve never wavered. I’ve navigated tough fights to deliver one of the most transformative first terms in our city’s history—focusing on safety, prosperity, and a future where families and businesses thrive.
I love Monroe and its people. My promise is simple: to stand with you, communicate openly, and work relentlessly for a safe, vibrant city. Together, we can ensure Monroe remains a place where faith, family, and opportunity flourish for generations to come. I’m running to keep that promise alive—join me in building Monroe’s future.
