Who Am I?

LEADER.FATHER.BELIEVER.FRIEND.

Brief Summary of Who I am

I was born in Charlotte, and my parents moved us to Union County when I was twelve. I have been in Monroe for almost 30 years now. I went to Piedmont Middle School, Piedmont High School, and Wingate University. I have a wonderful & beautiful wife of almost 18 years. We have six children that are tremendous blessings to us, and we have three dogs (2 Golden Doodles, 1 Italian Greyhound) that complete our family. I grew up in church at Hickory Grove UMC and then right before my wife and I got married, we spent some time at Steele Creek Church of Charlotte. That is where my wife and I caught "on fire" for The Lord. We then attended First Baptist Church of Indian Trail for 11 years, where we found our people and purpose and ignited our passion to affect the world for Christ. We attend a small home church now where we have all become more like family and all "do life" together and grow closer together in Christ. My identity in Christ means more to me than anything. Being the best husband, father, and man possible is part of that identity. I believe in striving to make this world a better place, affect change, and lead people to God through Christ. I also believe God has endowed us with certain inalienable rights that should protect all people and allow them to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.
Ever since I was a kid, I would tell people I wanted to be The President of the United States. Now, that might be a long shot, but I have had the calling to get involved and help people and my community since I can remember. I love Monroe. I love the people and the possibilities of what they can become. Since I can remember, we've always been on the cusp of greatness, then Monroe falters. You can chalk it up as leadership, growth, or culture, but it's because people need someone they can rely on, someone who loves the people but also knows how to get things done. We need someone who can rally and unite people for the common good. I have a proven track record of that, building my company and becoming a leader in my industry and community. I can meet people where they are and have always had a unique ability to talk to individuals no matter their background, make them feel important, and encourage their purpose in life. I can unite and find common ground and get things done. The other gift I'm blessed with is the ability to communicate. I promise the city of Monroe I will share with you through new avenues and media. I will fill you in on the events in our city and let you know what I'm thinking and the issues around our great city. Simply put, I will be your voice. I will stand with you, with strength, determination, guidance, kindness, and integrity as the representative of our great people.
