Monroe, NC, is gearing up for a high-flying celebration of our nation’s heroes! I’m thrilled to announce the return of the Warbirds Over Monroe Air Show on November 8-9, 2025, at Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport. Despite rumors about airport construction, we’re not just back—we’re going bigger and better than ever! This Veterans Day weekend, join us to honor the men and women who served our country with courage, while enjoying a family-friendly spectacle that soars above the rest. #MonroeStrong
Since 2005, the Warbirds Over Monroe Air Show, hosted by our Communications and Tourism Department and the nonprofit Warriors and Warbirds, has grown into one of the region’s premier aviation events. Thousands will gather to witness World War II-era planes, thrilling performances, and tributes that bring history to life. From P-51 Mustangs to the iconic Wall of Fire, this show delivers excitement for all ages. Gates open at 9 a.m., with aerial action kicking off around noon—rain or shine. Bring blankets or chairs, snap photos, and soak in the patriotism. Coolers, drones, and pets (except service dogs) aren’t allowed, but the memories will be unforgettable.
This event isn’t just about planes—it’s about community. It drives our economy, packing downtown shops and restaurants, and showcases Monroe as a vibrant destination. Our team’s working hard to make this the biggest show yet, with surprises in store (stay tuned for performer updates!). We’re grateful for the Veterans Council of Union County, local businesses, and volunteers who make it possible.
